Sony Ericsson turns down offer to buy Sagem Mobiles

Sony Ericsson was proposed the acquisition of French handset maker Sagem Mobiles but does not plan to respond favourably, Sony Ericsson CEO Dick Komiyama told Les Echos. Sagem parent company Safran is trying to sell the loss-making subsidiary and has set the target of finding a solution by the summer. Sony Ericsson seemed like the ideal buyer. One year ago the company reached a technology transfer agreement with Sagem for the latter to develop its entry-level phones. Komiyama said that this partnership is going very well and that his company does not intend to go any further.Read More
